Instructor

Michelle Kunnen is an IIRP instructor who brings a diverse international background to her work as an instructor and implementation coach, having lived and worked in New Zealand, Japan, Syria, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Her experience includes consulting, administration, and providing professional development to teachers and administrators across the United States. Her global travels have also provided valuable insights into cultural differences, which she actively embraces.

Michelle's passion for restorative practices began in New Zealand, where she recognized the crucial role relationships play in both learning and fostering collaborative environments. She earned her master of science degree from the IIRP and is a licensed practitioner of restorative practices.

In her native New Zealand, Michelle studied the violin and music theory for ten years and performed as a lead in several musicals. Today, she enjoys traveling, walking, growing vegetables, and engaging in a variety of crafts.
