Instructor
Suzanne Butler is an IIRP instructor and dedicated educator with over twenty years of experience. She is a social-emotional learning (SEL) program specialist for an educational nonprofit. Suzanne provides direct service to many schools across the country, such as professional development training, coaching, and SEL collaboration during school site visits. She began her educational journey as a 5th grade teacher and quickly learned the value of building relationships with students. After ten years of classroom teaching, she went on to become a school counselor. Suzanne is passionate about equity in education and she specializes in implementing restorative practices in schools.
Suzanne earned her bachelor of arts from California State University, Chico, and her master of education in Counselor Education and Guidance Services from Virginia Tech.
Outside of work she enjoys being in nature, especially by the water in her home in Maryland.
