Joey Blake has a background is in Child and Youth Care. He is a college professor at several Toronto-based colleges teaching in the Child and Youth Care, Community Justice and Social Work programs. Joey has used restorative practices while supporting young people and their families within a variety of settings, including residential treatment facilities, youth criminal justice facilities, educational settings and with Indigenous communities. The research focus for his Master of Arts thesis is on restorative practices with Indigenous Youth within the youth criminal justice system.
