Bullying is a great area of concern, especially in schools. In this video, IIRP Instructor Lee Rush talks about the way restorative practices dovetails with bullying prevention.

Rush is a Board Member of the International Bullying Prevention Association (IBPA), which holds an annual conference each November. This year's focus is "Building Supportive Relationships to Create a Positive School Climate."

The conference will feature a keynote by Australian restorative practices pioneer, Margaret Thorsborne, who held the first restorative conferences in schools two decades ago.

IIRP Lecturer Elizabeth Small will be presenting a breakout session on restorative practices and bullying prevention at the conference. Rush will present a session on using a variety of games and ice-breakers to build community with proactive circles – one of the practices on the restorative practices continuum.
